Best Western Biltmore Plaza Hotel / 3 Miles Northern Highway, Belize City, Belize
Workshop Details
The American Chamber of Commerce of Belize invites you to an exclusive conversation focused on the challenges created due to an observed trend towards bank de-risking.
For a variety of reasons, financial institutions have closed accounts of clients considered “high risk” at an increasing rate, which has affected commerce both in Belize and abroad. This workshop will help clarify the existing situation, explore future challenges, and present solutions to assist the business community in building a consensus about how to address this issue.
The workshop will include presentations by:
- Mr. Glenford Ysaguirre, Governor of the Central Bank of Belize
- Mr. Hector Rivera, Deputy General Manager of Atlantic Bank
- Mr. Michael Shaw, General Manager of Scotia Bank
- Mr. Nikita Usher, President of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Mr. J. Nathan Bland, Chief of the Political Economic and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Sections, U.S. Embassy Belize
After the presentations, we will hold a Q & A session.
To ensure an open and honest dialogue, this event will be closed to the media.
An entrance fee of BZ$20.00 can be paid at the door. To RSVP for this event, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
